Collington Wood tree planting

A LINK with the Great Storm of 1987 is contained in this Nostalgia Spot picture. Members of the Junior Church at St Augustine’s had been so concerned at the huge loss of trees in nearby Collington Wood, one of their favourite places, that they decided to put their money together and buy a replacement sapling.
Pictured at the tree-planting ceremony in March 1989 with youth leader Pat King were Natalie Johnson, Sharon Mepham and David Bennett.
