Former team member Terry Woodley, of Buxton Drive, submitted the shot showing the Seniors side of 1952.
Terry names the line-up as: Ted Bennett, Dave “Speedy” Wickens, Jimmy Pont, Fred Soper, Kenny Turner, Terry Woodley, John Crittenden, Martin Ashenden, Robin Boswell, Jerry Crouch and Haden - .

DAVE Wickens can not only recall the names of most of the Down County Secondary School team but in what position they played.
Dave names the line-up as: - - , - - , Dave Wickens, - Pont, Fred Soper, Kenny Turner; Terry Woodley, Johnny Crittenden, Martin Ashenden, Robin Boswell, - Crouch, Haden Ellis.
Dave, who used to play on the wing, says: “Fred was a half-back. Johnny Crittenden was a half-back. Robin was a forward. Crouchy was a forward.
“Haden Ellis was a good player but I can’t remember where he played.”

ROBIN Boswell supplied the missing name when he e-mailed: “I would like to name the players in the picture.
“The back row from left is: Tom Barton, Ted Bennett, Dave Wickens, John Pont, Fred Soper, Ken Turner, Terry Woodley.
“The front row from left is: John Crittenden, Martin Ashenden and myself, Robin Boswell, Gerry Crouch and Haydn Ellis.
“I think the year was 1952 when we (the Down Modern School for Boys) won the Hastings Shield and also the Hastings and Bexhill Schoolboys league.
“We were all either 14 or 15 years old.”
