Southern Boys Club 1975

THE year was 1975. Members of the former SBC Football Club were lined up for the camera at their home ground at Little Common.
Submitted by former club player Michael High, of Lychgates Close. Michael was pictured second from right in the back row.
Prominent on the right of the front row was Derek Stevens, now chief executive of Rother District Council.
FROM Hampshire, ex-local footballer Kev Warren responds.
Kev Writes: "After 26 years away in the Royal Air Force, now 'time-served' and living in Lymington, it was great to see the SBC II photo in Friday's spot.
"It probably dates from 1976 (Wow! Thirty years ago), Southern Boys' Club (SBC) II, Hastings Sunday League, Division 3/4 (?), home pitch at Little Common.
"A great social side and a means of running off Saturday night's hangover.
"Don Skippings managed the first team, who were the 'real' footballers.
"I think the line-up is as follows: Ray Crouch (?), Tim Smith, Kev 'Beaver' Warren, 'Wizzle', 'Percy' Parker, Micky High, Colin Haffenden (player manager), Kev 'Roll Up' Skippings, Kev Skelton, Simon Reynolds, Carl 'Studs' Leppard, Derek Stevens.
"Good memories! Hope all are well."
