Bexhill Theatre Supporters Club

For its 1995 garden party on the De La Warr Pavilion terrace, Bexhill Theatre Supporters' Club echoed the national mood in commemorating the 50th anniversary of the ending of World War II.
The event had a VJ Victory Fair theme.
Members of Bexhill Old Time Music Hall Society - BOTMS - Sheila Brooks, David French, Colin and Mary Whiting, Eileen and Gordon Swift and Dee Barry.
FOR Mary Whiting, of Turkey Road, this photograph brought back happy memories,
Mary writes: "The group from Bexhill Olde Tyme Music Hall Society, which for many years has entertained (twice a year), large numbers of patrons at St Peter's Church Hall, raising much-needed funds for local charities.
"I'm not sure which year the picture was taken but it was at the De La Warr Pavilion in what used to be the cafeteria.
"For several years, the De La Warr was the venue for local groups to run stalls for expenses - as you can see, BOTMS has a very attractive one."
There is one colleague whose name, Mary can't recall but she says that in addition to herself and her husband Colin as Pearly Queen and King, the picture showed David French and Eileen and Gordon Swift.
Colin trod the boards for BOTMS for 22, giving up five years ago when he was 80.
Mary and Colin remain ardent supporters of BOTMS.
