Sidley Silver Threads Club

SIDLEY Silver Threads Club membership was the common bond which brought the figures in this photograph together.
They were pictured, of course, in Turkey Road preparing to take part in the Carnival procession.
The photograph was submitted by Jim Hearn, of Calgary Road. His mother, Mildred, was pictured at the right rear of the photograph dressed as a postman.
Mildred was secretary of the club for some time. What she had not done was put the year on the back of the shot.
Jim says: "I would think it was late Fifties or early Sixties."
